A flying dress photoshoot involves wearing a dramatic, long-flowing gown designed to capture the wind and create breathtaking visuals, often against Santorini’s iconic whitewashed buildings, blue domes, and stunning caldera views.

At the photo shoot I will help you pose well, I will give you tips and find the right angles. You can also show me before the shoot what photos you want so we can look for the right places and the right light.

I recommend you try it yourself in the mirror, practice a few positions and see which ones work for you.

1.Focus on Movement

• Spin or Twirl: Slowly spin to create natural movement in the dress. This works best if the dress has lightweight, flowy fabric.
• Walk or Stride: Take long, confident strides to create a sense of motion. Keep your toes pointed slightly for elegance.
• Toss the Fabric: Use your hands or an assistant to toss the fabric into the air just before the photo is taken.

2. Use Your Arms

• Extend your arms outward or upward to accentuate the flying effect of the dress.
• Hold onto the edges of the dress and lift them slightly to emphasize the flow.
• Experiment with asymmetry, such as one hand on your hip and the other lifting the fabric.

3. Play with Angles

• Side Profile: A side pose with a slight turn of your head can highlight the dress’s movement and elongate your silhouette.
• Back View: Turn your back to the camera, with your head looking over your shoulder, while the dress flows behind you.
• Tilted Head: A slight head tilt adds softness and elegance to your pose.

4. Use Your Legs

• Create interesting shapes with your legs, such as crossing one in front of the other or extending one leg forward.
• Point your toes if you’re barefoot or wearing heels to add refinement.

5. Engage with the Environment

• Use props like a fan or natural wind to enhance the flying effect.
• Pose against dramatic backdrops such as cliffs, beaches, or urban rooftops for a striking contrast.

6. Facial Expression

• Keep your face relaxed and natural. A soft smile or a dreamy, contemplative expression works well.
• If you’re aiming for drama, experiment with intense or playful looks.

7. Involve an Assistant

• Have someone help lift or toss the fabric just before the photo is taken to achieve maximum flow and drama.

Most providers offer a catalog of colors and styles for you to choose from. Consider the backdrop when picking your dress (e.g., red contrasts beautifully with the white and blue landscape). Sizes are typically adjustable to fit various body types.

If you have a hotel in Oia or close to beautiful places in Santorini where you would like us to do a photo shoot please send the location or the name of the hotel, if it is close to the photo locations I will come to you to change the dress or even start the meeting from the hotel.
